The complaints about the out-of-state thing at UM predate the mainstreaming of the great replacement conspiracy. Is it a great national university for its own sake, or is the point to serve the residents of the state? Michigan elects trustees to a number of universities established by the state constitution, and you should be able to check out candidate statements going quite a ways back.
I looked at data from every major university in the country. Very few have a high percentage of international students for undergrad. https://www.collegetowns.org/p/no-international-students-are-not
Less then half the students for a state school are from that state?
Forget where they are coming from who is the State School for then?
Fleecing out of staters for 3x is in no way sustainable.
A storm is brewing in higher learning and seeing something like this is just another sign of the trouble they are in for.
Great point
