One thing that has become clear in this gubernatorial race is that the Democratic Party, at least in California, has basically no coherent ideological leaders; the whole thing is a bunch of lobbyists and consultants all scheming and stepping over each other in pursuit of power, and Harris is the worst of them all. She made this clear when she consolidated the donor class and demanded to be the 2024 nominee even though she had little chance of winning, while kneecapping anyone who might have had a better chance- she was willing to roll the dice on the fate of the whole country all for her own completely selfish pursuit of power. Then she apparently decided that the governorship of the most powerful and important state in America was too small for her, in spite of never having accomplished anything in politics. Now she's demonstrating complete indifference to the fate of her home state while she plots another failed run at the White House. It's (almost) hard to imagine that these people could be so self-involved yet indifferent to the actual concerns of voters- this is seriously Veep territory.
I think it's time for everybody who's been associated with the Democratic party for the last 30 years to step aside and let people who represent the actual Democratic party, the principles that made us so that we were different than these corporate sucking schlubs, let them take the stand. how about political courage instead of horse race poll trusting? how about policies that actually help people instead of pretending to help people so that you can get elected and then pay your backers? identity politics is another bullshit ruse to keep us from voting in people who will actually change this system so that it helps us. I'm sick of all of these people including newsom and including Harris and including Clinton. they should know that their brand of fake populism is less popular than the Republicans brand of fake populism. And what we really need is real populism. remember what Bernie said? about us having a livable wage by taxing billionaires and by having health care that we didn't have to bankrupt ourselves? and how about education that keeps us competitive in the global market? how about some thought before throwing missiles at other countries?

She needs to wander off and sit on a few corporate boards. She never had what it takes to hold a decisive position.
