The media did get better about shooter coverage for a while. The public was interested in the "manifestos" since they could provide an explanation but for most of them it's just literally schizophrenic ramblings and the media stopped giving them oxygen.
Exactly, which is why talking about "liberal shooters," or the Trumpist Mormon killer is moot, silly, and even counterproductive. It's crazy people doing crazy things, period.
The factor that we should be examining in these incidents isn't the ideological motivation of the shooters; it's whether or not the shooter attempted to escape. There has been a significant amount of speculation that mass shooting events are really just glorified suicides. By that measure, the Kirk assassination is a different kind of animal because Tyler Robinson did everything he could to evade capture.
Thanks, Zaid. My $0.02 is media bias plays a huge role in shaping our opinions which then shape our actions. I'm pretty sure Donald Trump, Charlie Kirk and the United Healthcare CEO weren't the anti-Christ but in each case someone became convinced they were. How did that happen and how can we stop it from happening?

it seems the more “political” the nature of the shooting, the more coverage it seems to get as well.
either way, it’s a feedback loop from Hell.
